I experienced the same thing for several years. I could never pinpoint a particular food or type of food that would cause it. Sometimes I felt like it was warm foods, but not always.

I asked an allergist about it. His response to me was it's nothing to worry about. He offered me a prescription for a nasal spray that I could use to stop it. But I would have to use the spray right before eating; to me the problem with my nose running was the embarrassment if I'm out in public or on a date; if I had to carry around and pull out a nasal spray that didn't help, so I never tried it.

I haven't noticed my nose running while eating since I started the EFI diet, or at least it happens much less. I think it's because I've cut out dairy (which also seems to have made my seasonal allergies go away). My assumption that it's dairy and not, say, red meat or fried foods is a bit of a guess, but I've heard that dairy increases mucus levels and causes some people to become congested.

By the way, I've been tested for allergies to a lot of different foods, and all the tests I've taken have been negative. Also negative for environmental allergies.

One other thought. I started taking Levsin / Hyoscyamine / now Symax SL for my IBS issues (it's an anti-spasmodic). It often makes my mouth dry; I've read (on the internet) that's one of the side effects, and that it's sometimes used to reduce mucus levels or stop running noses. It does have other possible side effects so I don't know if it's worth trying it to you, but something to consider and ask your doctor about if it's really annoying you, or maybe there's a better treatment your doctor knows about.

Edit: On second thought, I'm not a doctor, but if you're IBS-C, an anti-spasmodic might be the opposite of what you want for your stomach.

I have the same problem I would say during/after 40% of my meals I have to wipe/blow my nose. I have never correlated it to anything - I just thought it had to do with my giant nose and breathing through it while i was eating and maybe some allergies.
