Watermelon is a fruit that contains twice as much fructose as glucose. If you are sensitive to fructose then this fruit can cause problems.

Doesn't bother me, however I usually have some SF before I have any fruit.

Big problem for me too--the only fresh fruit I can tolerate is berries and mangoes. I can't even eat bananas!

I ate some watermelon today in the pm and I'm so bloated now! Now, I don't understand why? I thought that you could only have a problem with this fruit when you are fructose intolerant but I tested negative . Anyone can explain?

Melons are my worst fruit. I can eat them in small quantities sort of as dessert. I also have trouble with grapes and cherries. Again I can eat a few. Otherwise most fruits are pretty tolerable.
I am growing melons in my garden this year. Hopefully if they are really tasty I will still be able to eat very small amounts.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
