I use to get them at Kroger's all the time. And now they have stopped carrying them. I loved those! I was just wondering if they stopped making them or if it is just the store I am shopping at.

They are still making them - you can check out their Website at www.guiltlessgourmet.com. They have a store locator which might help.

It look like they've changed their formula. (Is this Change Your Perfectly Good Manufactured Food Formula week? I'm doing a post on Hellmann's mayonnaise in a minute.) I found a listing for the old style Blue Corn Tortilla chips on Amazon ( web page). I compared what that listing says to what the new information on the Guiltless Gourmet web site says. The old and new ingredient list is identical:
Stone Ground Organic Blue Corn, Expeller Pressed (Canola or Safflower, or Sunflower) Oil, Salt, Lime

The calorie and calories from fat info is a little different:

Old: 110 calories, 15 from fat (13.6% CFF)
New: 120 calories, 27 from fat (22.5% CFF)

The other nutrition info is:
Old: Total Fat 2 grams; Saturated Fat 0g; Trans Fat 0g
New: Total Fat 3 grams; Saturated Fat 0g; Trans Fat 0g

Old: Sodium 160 mg
New: Sodium 230 mg

So they put more fat and more salt in it. More mainstream basically. These are still within the safe 25% CFF range Heather recommends but phooey! The chips were fine the way they were.

Okay, I decided to compare the new Guiltless Gourmet Yellow Corn chips with Baked Tostitos:

GG: Stone Ground Organic Yellow Corn, Expeller Pressed (Canola or Safflower, or Sunflower) Oil, Salt, Lime
BT: Whole Corn, Vegetable Oil (one or more of Corn, Sunflower, Soybean), Salt

GG: 120 calories, 30 from fat (25% CFF)
BT: 120 calories, 25 from fat (20.8%)

GG: 3 grams fat, 250mg sodium
BT: 3 grams fat, 130mg sodium

I wonder if Trader Joe's still makes their nice 15% CFF tortilla chips.

HTH.

Thanks Sand! I really don't understand why they change good things to begin with. I personally don't care for the new Tostitoes scoops. I liked them the old way before. Then I tried Guiltless Gourmet and really liked them. I'll have to check and see if I can find them nearby. Or ask if Kroger will start carrying them again. It is frustrating when companies feel the need to change something that already taste good and seems to sell well. I appreciate the info on that.
