I used to eat it all the time before starting the EFI diet with no improvement. Now I avoid all dairy.

I used to eat yogurt every day before starting EFI. I didn't necessarily eat Activia, but I did used to eat Astro BioBest which is basically the same thing. It never helped. Now I don't eat any dairy at all.

Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!

I'm with Zara and Erilyn. Also, when i did eat yoghurt i actually found that the ones with bacteria in it like activia made me feel worse. Weird.

Zara- you say that you have cut out dairy= has that appreciably helped your gas , cramping??? I seem to have cut out so much of my diet- garlic, beans, onions, milk, brocollai, peppers etc etc and the list goes on.

pieta, I pretty much cut dairy out last summer but would still eat dairy chocolate, etc. because I thought such little amounts didn't bother me. A week ago I ate a bunch of m&m's (have dairy) and a day later I had one of my worse attacks. Since then I've been really careful about even tiny bits of dairy, buying dairy free chocolate, etc. I think no dairy helps me with my C and also with cramping. There have been periods of time since last summer when I tried to reintroduce dairy (no ice cream but yogurt and cheese) and always ended up being more bloated then usual with stabbing pain. So hopefully now I'm finally convinced that there is no good reason for me to eat it. It's tempting because I used to love it, so I just keep telling myself, "I'm not a baby-cow, I'm not a baby-cow..." .

Sorry it made you sick but at least now you know to avoid it. What I'd really suggest is trying to avoid all dairy (even tiny amounts in candy, crackers, etc.) and if you feel better(I think you would).
