Hello- Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I'm concerned about my rapid weight loss (at 5'5" down to 105 lbs though i never skip meals, eat 6x a day, scaled back my exercise, etc). I've noticed that, though I'm predominantly C, when i do have a BM it's loose and there looks to be a lot of undigested matter in there. like, today, an entire cashew. gross. could it be that my body is not getting any nutrients from this stuff? i want to gain weight as best as i can and i'm worried that if food is not moving properly through my system i could have quite a tough time. just wondering, is this common? how do you deal with it?
being tested 1/28 for colitis/chrohns/celiac, etc.

First off if I ate cashews I would have D for two days and not digest anything!! When I first got the constant D I lost 20 pounds in 4 weeks. My internist and my gastro guy were both very concerned. As a result I got to have more tests to rule out other possibilities but all came back negative except for spastic colon. I suggest you start carefully following Heather's diet but first you start with a few days of soluble fiber only like steamed rice, baked potato (with nothing on it except a little salt), fresh french bread or sourdough with no perservatives or high fructose corn syrup. Also start stirring 1/2 tsp of acacia into a morning cup of hot herbal tea and again in the evening. A good probiotic wouldn't hurt. I take align which can be purchased at aligngi.com. The way my GI explained it I had gotten my digestive system totally spasmotic and I needed to calm it down. It took about two weeks to calm it down but if I go off Heather's diet I get the D back and it is NO fun. My weight has leveled off and I have gained about 5 pounds back. I needed to lose a little weight so I am happy with that. Good luck to you on your diet and especially on your tests. Keep us posted.
