Cold medicines and IBS do not go hand in hand very well -- at least not for me. Anything that goes in my mouth will come out as gas and I am extremely bloated --- better go make some fennel tea It is bad enough to have a cold getting you down but then to add the IBS.

It's really strange but for some reason, when I have a cold, SOMETIMES my IBS seems to go away. It's like my body decides it will only handle one thing at once - LOL.
I know what you mean about cold medications though. The liquid ones almost always throw my tummy for a loop, and the tablet forms medicines are completely useless to me. Just cozy up with lots of nice hot tea, and be sure to get lots of rest!

Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!

I just had a horrible cold right before thanksgiving. It made me so naseaus... I dont do well with meds. But I took liquid benedryl cherry flavor and I was fine and it helped. You have to take it every 4-6 hours though. Snuggle with a warm blanket or robe and drip some hot tea. And I made some FF chicken broth with Curly chinese noodles (like oodles of noodles) with alittle salt and chicken boulion.
Hope you feel better.

Babies is the plan for 2008!!Hope this IBS cooperates.
