I've been avoiding lactose as far as possible but the last 2 days i've eaten something with lactic acid in it and have felt really bloated and uncomfortable. So was thinking i've consumed lactose without realising. Also is dextrose related to wheat or lactose or neither? It is used in foods to adjust the acidity and as an antioxidant. Lactic acid is lactose free and it is not a problem for lactose intolerant individuals.
