I have been dealing with the same problem and while it's not always the best substitute (because nothing is a good as chocolate I find) I have been eatting plain corn pops (plain as in no milk or added sugar, just eatting them dry right out of the box) banana bread (which is also filling at the same time) or sometimes gummy bears...

I'm trying to do the same thing also as i'm a sweets addict. I've been managing my cravings by having alpro soya chocolate desserts. They're yummy plus they're good for you- calcium, vitamins etc

Thanks guys, although what you've mentioned is far too sweet for me right now, I've got candida, so I have to avoid sugars and yeast, maybe I should've mentioned that in my post (oops!:)). I heard sweet potatoes are good for sweet cravings and maybe magnesium, anyone heard of any other things that could help a former sugar addict, I don't wanna get hooked again!!! xx Thanks

Chromium is supposed to be good when it comes to fighting cravings. I don't know if it affects IBS though.

Hi Zara - ta for your response. I'm on liquid chromium, it's effective for blood sugar levels, but so far no good on the craving front....hey ho. I'm gonna battle this...they are fading, but sometimes I just wanna eat a nice chocolate bar!! thanks again

I eat 70% dark chocolate with only 3 grams of sugar per serving (Trader Joes), ginger cookies and cool whip. Also soy ice-cream.
