Anyone taking Trazodone? Thinking about starting it due to lack of sleep. Let me know if anyone has had success on it for IBS

I have been on Trazodone for a couple months and it helps with the insomnia but I have IBS-C and I can't see that it helps so I'm trying other things for the IBS but for sleep I think it is good.

Yes, I've been taking it for months. My doctor prescribed it for anxiety, but I think it helps me sleep also. When I asked him why he prescribed this medication instead of something else, he said Trazodone is better for those with intestinal problems.
I started this and Flora Q probiotic at the same time. Not sure which one(or both) helped, but before starting them I was having major problems and feeling pretty hopeless and desperate. I got back on the right track after only a few days. Trazodone starts working almost immediately (or it did for me anyway).

Does it cause C? Or are you a D anyhow?
I was prescribed this also, but I am horribly C so I have been to afraid to try this drug.

Sorry Jordy, I can't help you there. I'm D and it helped me tremendously, so I'm not sure if it would help or hurt someone with C. I do get C on rare occasions, but never for very long.

it was prescribed to me by my doc too...i'm C and afraid to try it too jordy.
