I am on a wheat-free diet, as well as being vegan, and am starting to get really stuck for things i can eat as i also can't seem to tolerate beans and pulses, and fruit. Feeling a little out of ideas for meals. Breakfasts are fine- it's just lunches and dinners that are a real problem. Would really appreciate any help. Many thanks, x

How did your specialist determine that you were wheat intolerant? Was your specialist a doctor?

Since being put on a wheat-free diet i've been eating anything i wish apart from wheat. I'm not a vegan for moral reasons only by food preference so i occasionally have fish and the only dairy i have is the occasional bit of chocolate and milk in my tea. Before being put on a wheat-free diet i mostly followed Heather's diet. But haven't been following it after seeing my specialist as thought it was just down to wheat so i've eating lots of fruit, beans and pulses dishes, curries, and any veg i fancy, as well as lots of brown rice. And whilst my bloating and constipation has improved since avoiding wheat i'm still getting really bad stomach cramps, trapped wind and horrendous flatulence. So today i figured i should probably combine the wheat-free diet with Heather's diet. I'm feeling rather limited in what i can eat so i might have to start eating meat and more fish again. (i'm only vegan/vegetarian because i'm not a big fan of meat and fish). x

My specialist is an allergy specialist dietitian in my local hospital. I told her my symptoms and she said that it's probably a wheat intolerance and so has put me on a strict wheat free diet for 3 months. I think i need to combine wheat free and heather's diet
