My mornings usually consist of me rushing around the house, quickly shoveling cereal into my face sometime before 7 and rushing to work. What kinds of cereal do you girls and guys eat? I looked at a list of acceptable cereals and they all seem to have little substance to them. By 10 I'm hungry again. I picked up a box of cheerios crunch. Are those ok? Only 2 grams of fiber, no milk and 1 gram of fat.

If I'm in a rush, I grab a Luna Bar or sometimes just a banana.
For hot cereals, I eat oatmeal (not instant, but that's personal preference).
For cold, I eat Cheerios, Marshmallow Mateys (Malt-o-Meal's version of Lucky Charms), multigrain Chex, low sugar Fruit Loops, corn Chex, and whatever Malt-o-Meal calls their version of Capt. Crunch.
Oatmeal keeps me going for the longest time, but it also takes the longest to prepare because I do it on the stove top so I don't have to watch the microwave for boil over.

you can make oatmeal in the crock pot. So when you wake it the morning it is done. Really creamy that way.

I got a crock pot at a Goodwill store near me for 3 dollars. I don't know if you have thrift stores near you, but that might be a place to look into. I actually have found a lot of cooking ware at Goodwills and Salvation Army stores -- its been really helpful seeing how I am a teacher and have to watch my finanaces. HTH.

What size crock do you need for this? I have the 3.5 quart version. Seems like a lot of room for one bowl of oatmeal (or maybe it's just because I don't fancy the idea of washing the crock every morning )
Your basic new crockpot like mine runs under $30, I believe.

Hey
I eat oatmeal with water and a bit of soymilk, plus I add a sprinkle of bran cereal and cornkflakes. I usually eat around 6am and then have morning tea between 9-10am cause I'm starving but I regard that as a good thing, sign of healthy digestion/metabolism.
