I'm taking a probiotic that has 27% Bifidus in it. I read in a magazine that Bifidus helps pain alot and bloating. I was wondering if having more than 27% is ok. There are Bifidus capsules with Acidophilus here where I live at a health food store so I was wondering if I could takes those too with my probiotic. Anyone know? It would be great if I could since I have severe pain and severe bloating. My bloating is so severe I have to buy a whole new wardrobe!!! Help!

Angel, Heather told me when I complained about the bloating and the tight jeans to forego the jeans and opt instead for comfortable sweats -- until I got the IBS under control. Hang in there, I'm convinced that once it's under control I'll be able to go back to my jeans. To answer your question, I KNOW Heather can help!

Re. clothes. I have a long skirt that has subtle elastication in the waistband so it's comfy even when I'm really bloated, but it doesn't look bad (I can even wear it to the office). Or with jeans -lycra, lycra, lycra!

Since I can't fit into any of my jeans I had no choice but to give them to charity. So I wear drawstring track pants around the house which is so comfy. My waist was 26 inches before I got IBS. Last time I measured it was 35 inches!!!! That was weeks ago. I look like a blimp. There is a chance that my IBS may never get under control since it's extremely severe. I have yet to meet a person that has it as severe as me. I read on a website only 5 % of people have severe IBS, 70% has mild, 25% has moderate. Aren't I lucky?

Don't you just hate looking pregnant! I went out to dinner with my fiance and my housemates recently, ate too much and promptly looked at least 6 months pregnant. My housemates thought it was hilarious - needless to say I didn't!

My clothes only fit cos I put on weight doing my finals just before I got IBS so I had to get some new clothes then.

Have you tried fennel for the bloating? I've got a herbal tea I bought in Covent Garden that has fennel in it and the stuff is the only thing that works for me.

It takes time to get used to the idea of having IBS. I'm determined to get on top of mine, but I know that it'll require pretty big life changes as well as the diet changes. Hopefully, quitting my London job next summer will help. Give yourself a chance - don't give up yet!

Don't think you're alone, Angel -- we're all fighting the same battle. I too look pregnant in my pants, and I hate it. But I'm going to fight it, I'm not going to give up. I believe we can get this under some form of control, whether it's cutting out our beloved cuppajoe in the mornings or doing Michael's hypnosis program. All of these fixes together have to work, at least to some extent. But I think a positive thought process is more important than anything -- Michael's taught me that. Sometimes I get real down about it and feel real sorry for myself -- until I hear about someone else's problems. Whenever I see Steve Reeves, I break down and cry. What an inspiration he is! He's not giving up -- and neither should we. Kay?

I look like I'm 9 months pregnant! I have strong fennel tea everyday, lemon juice, probiotic, gas capsules, take a bath with 1 c. salt once a week, peppermint tea, Altoids, yoga. Nothing works. I 'm trying everything. I've gained weight from all these carbs it's horrible. I'm doing everything I can to lose the weight. It was a lot easier for me before IBS to stay 110lbs. Now it's a nightmare.

I'm doing my best to not give up but it's so hard. It's driving me crazy. I'm actually on the Hypnotheraphy. I'll be done next week. So far I haven't noticed a change. I doing everything I can to get my IBS under control but so far it's not even close to being under control. It's hard to be positive when my life is a living hell.
