what to eat when you are at a special function

I have a wedding anniversary comming up and not sure about the food thng as I get sick easily and then I am running the the bathroom and that would be not what I want when I am at a function like that.

If I were you, I'd take Immodium before you leave as a preventive and bring some with me for added security.
As far as the menu, can you call the host/hostess in advance and make sure they have things on the menu that you can eat? If there is absolutely nothing you can eat, I would eat a meal you know is safe prior to going to the function and sip on water or have a glass of wine if you can tolerate it to relax you. Explain to anyone who asks that you had something to attend earlier in the day and are still full.
Most of all, try not to worry and enjoy yourself. You know there will be a bathroom there should you need to use it.

The last wedding I was at, I asked the waitress if they could just make the chicken plain instead of putting all sauce and trimmings on it. I also asked for steamed veggies without the sauce. If you tell them you have allergies most restaurants are pretty good about catering to you.
