I am going on a day trip to chicago tomorrow and I normally take my acacia fiber 1/2 tbs in morning and 1/2 when I eat supper. The mornging one will be fine but we willnot get back til midnight. Cna I take the whole dose at once or will that have consequences??

You could try taking some in a ziploc bag and having it at your normal time, thats what I do. alternatively, take the second dose when you get home, even though it is later than normal. I wouldn't add the two doses but thats just my opinion. have a great day trip!!

Definitely don't take a double dose. You may get gassy and bloated, plus the idea of the acacia is to keep your gut calm throughout the day so you would still want to have your evening dose. In situations like these, I used to do one of two things:

1- I would take the acacia with a small snack around the time you would have normally eaten dinner. (Maybe an applesauce container...if unopened, it doesn't need to be refrigerated.) Then I would make sure I ate enough SF at my dinner meal since I wouldn't have the acacia then.

2- I would have an SF snack around the time I normally ate dinner, ie., graham crackers. Then I would take my normal dose of acacia with my dinner meal even if it was later in the evening.

If you plan it well, you can premix your acacia in whatever you bring with you. If not, I use those sliding measuring spoons by Pampered Chef to adjust my acacia measurements. And I take the acacia in my purse in this little plastic container that I got in the travel section in Rite-Aid (probably supposed to be for shampoo or something).
Hope that helps and enjoy your trip.
