acacia fiber question

I have been taking the fiber for about 3 weeks now and am up to 2 1/2 tsp a day and feel that it is helping a lot with my C. My first question is how do you tell if you are increasing too fast? I always have gas and bloating so I can in no way tell if that is from the fiber or from the foods I am eating. Also when do you know when you should increase some more. My C is much better and i have a BM every day now but sometimes they are hard instead of normal so I don't know if that means I should still try to take more or could that cause EXTRA gas and bloating, because that is the one thing I definitely do not need more of!

My other question is if you are having a meal that does not have much SF in it but you add some of the acacia fiber does that constitute as helping to balance out the IF in that meal? Like if I was making grilled chicken breast and I used the SF in the marinade or in soup with the chicken, would that be sticking to the SF at every meal in the largest portions rule?
