HI, THIS IS IN RE TO MY EARLIER POST ON HOW LONG IT TAKES TO STABILIZE. FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE DONE SO, ARE YOU NOW PAIN FREE, SUCH AS BEING ABLE TO GO THROUGH THE DAY PRETTY MUCH NORMAL, OR IS THE PAIN LIMITED TO AN ATTACK ONLY NOW AND AGAIN? YOU SEE, I GO THROUGH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF DISCOMFORT AND PAIN ALL DAY, DESPITE FOLLOWING THE DIET. EVEN IF I CALM DOWN, SOMETHING IS ALWAYS OFF KILTER. I COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO IF I KNEW EVENTUALLY I COULD GET THROUGH THE DAY WITH LITTLE OR NO PAIN. ALSO, WHAT STORES MAY I FIND GINGER TEA IN? I HAVE NAUSEA AS WELL AS STOMACH UPSET.

I have no pain at all anymore. Even on the rare bad days, I barely have cramps at all, whereas before, the cramps were so painful that I'd barely be able to walk. *However*, I didn't have constant pain - even at my worst, my pain was only right during the worst part of my attacks. Some of it will depend on whether your pain is a crampy pain, or if it's gas - gas is a notoriously difficult symptom to control, whereas cramping, I found, was pretty easy. (Peppermint tea is your friend!)

You should be able to find ginger tea in a health food store.

Hello,
I understand about the constant pain! I had pain EVERYDAY for a very long time, despite following the diet. My gastro dr said I would have to live with it, and just take more fiber. I went to an internist (a woman), and she couldn't believe the gastro dr let me suffer for over 10 years with the pain. She prescribed Bentyl, and it helped immediately! You might want to give it a try and see if it helps. I still have some pain, but I have it only a couple times each week. I follow the diet VERY closely!

I use ginger tablets for the nausea. I take fennel tabs and Beano with each meal. Sometimes I drink fennel tea (GAG!) and take peppermint tabs if my tummy is feeling especially sensitive.

Good luck!
MeiMei
