I have a question: I keep hearing people say they are stabilized. I haven't felt stable since 6 years ago when I got this 6 years ago. I am IBS-C so what does stabilized mean. Does it mean feeling normal or just not stressed out and totally confused? Or does it mean you actually feel totally normal again. If you are stable please let me know. Do you still get chronic attacks or not? I really want to know. Thanks, Andrew

For me, "stabilized" means that I don't have physical symptoms anymore. My bowel movements are pretty much normal (except when I get stupid and eat something I shouldn't, haha), I'm not in pain, and I go about my life pretty much normally - my life no longer revolves around knowing where all the bathrooms are, heh.
I never get attacks anymore... well, except when I eat something stupid!

Atomic Rose's definition of "stable" is right on. After 8 months I am having a BM everyday, but have not conquered the pain. I am working on that now that the BM is "Stable", but I don't consider myself Stable because of the pain. I am having a few days of no pain or very little pain, but it hasn't "gone away" I am listening a second round of hypno tapes, adding soothing teas to my diet, and taking more time outs for ME. Went to the mountains over the weekend to visit a cousin and didn't take any responsibilities with me. Geuss what!!!! - No pain all weekend.
