If so do they help? I wanted to see if I should go to one. Thanks. Andrew

I've never been to one but it couldn't hurt to go and find out what you need to steer clear of.

I just had a complete food panel and seasonal test (ingestants and inhalants) last week and came up negative on everything. Can't figure that one out, as I've had allergy problems for years.

Yup, I wanted to rule out any possibility of food allergies. The only thing I'm allergic to is tree pollen! I would definitely recommend doing it.

I've had the allergy "poke tests," though not as part of an IBS workup. When I had to see a GE later about my intestinal symptoms, I advised him that I'd been allergy tested previously and was negative for any major food allergies. It was definitely helpful for the process of elimination (pardon the pun... I mean on the way to my IBS diagnosis, which as you know is a diagnosis of exclusion.)
