I have just gotten the Eating for IBS book. Wonderful and tons of helpful information...however....I do not eat seafood of any kind in any lifetime. Can chicken be substituted in all of these recipes?????

It depends on what spices. Some spices like Old Bay dont go with chicken. Whats wrong with a little piece of Salmon. Its good for you too.

I know its abby-normal, but I can't even stand to read the words deveined! I had a bad fish experience when I was young, and have never been able to stand the smell or site of anything fish or seafood. The older I get the worse it gets. I simply can't eat it at this point. Acutally I'd never even try a spice made for fist. So I guess subbing chicken and maybe adjusting the spices, I'll be ok. Right?

Not exactly. Some of the fish recipes just wouldn't work with chicken. I'd just skip them and use the chicken recipes, find more chicken recipes online, look into turkey recipes, and consider beans, tofu, and nuts for protein.
You can definitely get by without fish or seafood, but adapting the recipes (except maybe pasta-type recipes) probably isn't going to taste great.
