Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or uses Slippery Elm? I went to a new health shop and they had the capsules and the powder to make into a drink. Both are supposed to aid IBS symptoms and support the digestive tract, or something along those lines. That's about all it said so I'm not exactly sure how it works or if it will help at all.
Has anyone tried it with success??

I'm IBS-C so I guess that means it wouldn't be any good for me

I can't seem to find any info on it other than "it helps IBS" which makes me wonder about it. It seems to be an herb though, which generally are okay. Personally, I'm not going to try it because I'm stable w/o it. But if it's really just nothing but an herb it might be worth a shot. Talk it over w/ your doc first. I didn't see anything indicating that it is intended for use with D or C, specifically. But I only checked out a few sites.

The few times I tried it - in the form of throat coat tea - it gave me d. (i'm ibs-d) If my less than clinical results can be believed, than maybe it would help your ibs-c ?

I have no idea, but it's worth a try I suppose! I was looking into buying the drink version because I struggle to drink enough fluids...
Having tried it yourself, would you say it tastes ok?
Thank you.

It's suppose to be good for both C and D. It's very soothing and doesn't taste too bad either. I bought the powder and mixed it into hot water to make a tea.
Maybe I'll try it again. It's been a while and it might help. I can't remember how it was before.
