I just noticed and advertisement in Reader's Digest for Metamucil with Calcium added. Would this be a good thing for IBS-D. It is in a capsule form. I haven't taken any fiber supplements yet.

I use Metamucil with Calcium as my SFS and have good success with it. I take a very small dose, but it seems to be enough for me. I am IBS A. I like that the calcium is in there since that is one less pill I have to take.

I take 3 capsules first thing in the morning and another 3 right before bed. The bottle says 5 capsules = 3g fiber. So, I guess I get between 4-5 grams total per day from these. There are lots of people on here that take much higher doses of SFS, but more than this causes gas and bloating. This small dose and Bentyl keep my BMs relatively normal except for around my monthly visitor.
