I am on several herbs that incredibly help.
fennel, anise and fenugreek.

However they are galactogogues but i find they work so well on my stomach. along with eating oatmeal.

I went from being sick 4-5 times a week to almost none as long as i am using the herbs. if i skip a day, then i find the symptoms of IBS comes back.

However with the herbs comes the galactogogue effect. and it's highly uncomfortable. but I love not being woken up in the night with stomach problems. so using the herbs is important.

I have no clue what to do, as i have tried everything to get my self back to normal but being able to use the herbs too.

That sounds incredible to me... what quantities of those herbs are you using?

Are you breastfeeding? I don't understand why the anise and the other. You might try just the fennel - it is amazing for gas, and you can also try peppermint, chamomile also.

I tried just the fennel tea but it only worked a little, and then i researched other herbs.

I got the Anise info from this site. and the fenugreek info from else where. But I find it works great in the combo. but I am still trying to find new herbs to try.

I use tincture drops in 16 ounces water according to the manufactures directions 2 times a day. I might be using more than my body needs, I am not sure.

no I am not breastfeeding. I dont have any kids. I am trying to find more info on reactions to herbs though.

However I feel great. I was sick for about 9 years, havent felt this great in that amount of time.

for christmas, we gave my mom heather's tummy teas and she's loving them. and noticed a improvment immeditly, I prefer drops over teas because i dont like hot beverages.

I use 6drops anise, 12 drops fennel and 12 drops fenugreek in a 16 ounce bottle of water. If I know I am going to eat something that causes problems,I up the anise to the 12 drops.

I might be taking too much, I am not sure. but for the first time in 9 years i can finally sleep a whole night for weeks at a time.

and if i skip the herbs, then I do get sick from what i eat.

What do the herbs have to do with the milk? Are you drinking milk? What is galactogogues?

OH no I do not drink milk I am severely lactose intolorant.

galactogogues is another name for a medicine or herb that causes lactation.

I was trying to be extreemly discreet in wording. But I am assuming it's just an effect from the combo of herbs. so I am looking for other herbs that help digestion also.

So, did you try reducing the amounts of the herbs?

Wow, I had no idea they could cause lactation if you are not in fact breastfeeding (I thought they coul donly increase the amount of already existing lactation)

Don't worry, you don't have to be very discreet here. Just please don't be crude and you're good to go. With the topics we have to deal with, it's just easier to be straight forward.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that.

Well, why don't you try to reduce the amounts of the herbs? Maybe a smaller dose will still be effective for the IBS and will not cause as much lactation. Did it stop, btw, when you removed one of the herbs? Which one?
