Does regular spaghetti pasta cause alot of gas and abdominal pain for anyone else on here? Whenever my daughter has some, the next day she has alot of abdominal pain, gas she can't pass and bloating. She is IBS-C. What about it would do this. It's not whole grain

Is she eating the pasta plain? What else does she have with it? Maybe it's the sauce, not the pasta itself. Unless... Is she allergic to gluten?

All that was on the pasta was soy sauce, chicken broth, ginger and S/P. She is not allergic to gluten.

Could she be having issues with the Soy? Soy can cause gas and bloating....

I am thinking I might have the same problem. Rice Noodles don't seem to give me much pain, but more and more regular pasta is. I wonder what it could be.

Do you eat any gluten? Are you gluten intolerant with antibody test?

It is hard at times to sort thru what it is but I really don't think it's the soy sauce cause I have used it in other recipes and it hasn't bother her. I really feel it's the pasta. I also used "no yolks" egg noodles in a IBS safe tuna casserole recipe once and same thing happened.

Does the same thing happen when you substitute rice for the pasta and egg noodles?

How about the chicken broth. What kind?
Also, the pepper, I feel bad after eating spicy foods (cramps) and I find pepper really hard to tollerate even in small quantities.

That maybe a clue.
I noticed in your previous posting you said "When I give her the cooked green beans or peas, I always serve them with french bread or rice."
What IF do you give her with pasta and egg noodles?

Hi, I have never been tested for gluten sensitivity. Does the GI doctor test you? Debbie IBS-C

They make a blood test and take a sample(biopsy) from your gut, they test it for gluten intollerance. Yes, your GI should do it.

That is odd... I have no idea what else it could be if she only ate this.
Could it be an effect of a food she ate before that? Sometimes the effect comes later.

I don't use regular pasta, try soy pasta (it's really good) and also the wheat pasta is an excellent choice ---
