My daughter has IBS. Is it safe to give simethicone drops for gas?

They're "baby gas drops" and they probably won't do any harm. But unless you're daughter is a baby they also probably won't be very effective. "Baby" meds are generally less powerful than "adult" meds. You can try Bean-O, Gas-X, peppermint and fennel teas. I use Bean-O and it works very well for me. As with all meds, you should run it by your doctor and see what he/she has to say and to make sure there aren't any drug interactions or problems with other conditions/illnesses, etc.

I take generic gas relief capsules and they are just Simethicone. I haven't had any problems with them and I have asked my Dr about taking them on a long term basis in case there would be any effects and was told there wasn't. How old is your daughter? I would double check with a pharmacist or physician before giving her an adult dose. Hope this helps and she feels better soon, Bethany

It's in the immodium that I take every day and I have no problems with it.
