I read somewhere that they add fat to Cheerios - so -- if you are sensitive .... it may be the fat that is upsetting your IBS. I know fat is my big trigger.

Also, are you using soy milk on the cereal? Sometimes that makes me gassy. You might want to try using Beano beforehand or using rice milk instead!
Yeah I use soy milk, I'm fine with that though. It's just the past couple days that I ate Cheerios that I noticed more symptoms, normally I eat low fiber cereals like Corn Pops, Cocoa Puffs, etc. I'm going to buy some Rice Crispies tomorrow when I go food shopping Thanks for all the help guys!

I've read this entire discussion, and all I can say is I can't eat any of the cereals mentioned because of the additives in them.
What I have for breakfast EVERY MORNING (for the past 14 years) is a bagel with babyfood fruit sauce (usually pear or blueberry/apple sauce), which I use as an additive-free, sugar-free substitute for jam. It probably isn't all that nutritious, but it tastes good!

Are multi grain cheerios okay? Or are regular better?

I'm able to tolerate multi-grain okay. You could probably even put some sliced banana in there to up the soluble, just to be safe.

Rice Krispies are one of my tried and true safe foods. So easy to digest.
Did you know that Mr. Kellog originally invented corn flakes as an easy to digest health food for people in the hospital?

Thanks for your info on this and the pasta. Ill have to get Corn Flakes, although I don't usually think of hospital food as something to put on my list ...I am now eating the last of my SAFE chocolate rice krispy treats even though I made them today (just say oink oink, but how can I help it when they're not bad for me?). This site is the best. THanks again!
