What to look for in tomato sauces?

I *love* pasta & tomato sauce but am confused about what makes certain sauces safe. I've seen Amy's brand mentioned. What ingredients should I look for?

Basically, you want a brand that doesn't contain high fructose corn syrup or dairy/cheese/meat of any kind. You also want one that's as low in fat as possible - you'd be surprised, a lot of sauces contain quite a bit of fat.

My favorite, personally, is Ragu Chunky or Garden Style or something to that effect. Very low fat, mild on the seasonings, and quite tasty.

I can't really tolerate tomato sauce and I'm new to this diet, but I know my sister-in-law who does not have IBS often puts a smidgen of baking soda in her homemade sauce to take out some of the gas? Not sure if it works.
