Rectal Prolapse/Enterocele.....HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hello to all,
OK, I need advice here...My colon doc called me today and said that beside me having a rectal prolapse, the defecography also shows that I have an enterocele. He wants me to see an Urogynecology doc for that. I have sooo many questions like:
What kind of surgery is best, vaginal or abdominal?
Is this type of surgery going to cause C like I read before?
What can I expect after the surgery?
I also been talking to a surgeon doc and a GYN doc(friends of the family) and they both have different opinions. Don't know what to think anymore. So confused......HELP PLEASE.
Anyway, I need all the info, help, advice I can get and for you guys to share your experience with me PLEASE.

I am not familiar with your problems and have no advice to offer but I wanted to say that I hope you find some answers. You sound so desperate for help, I know how comforting it is to find someone who shares your problems. Also this is a nice way of "bumping" up your post so hopefully someone with experience can help you out.

I'm sorry. Maybe after the holiday weekend when more people are on the boards, someone may have some advice. I wish I could help.
I'd say to try and post this in the LR after the holiday weekend. It seems like some people post on the LR but not here if they are stable. Maybe someone in the LR has had experience as it seems like they have been registered to the boards a lot longer than the Eating Board posters.
Please keep in touch as to what you decide. I tried to do a search for you.....but couldn't find anything.
My gut would tell me to trust the family friend. He is the most objective...and also to get second and third opinions.

I can't help either, but I would love to know what your symptoms are- I've been at a loss with my symptoms and just recently found some information on rectocele(?) and wonder if that's my problem. I've always thought I was all alone... but maybe not!

Hello Jordy,
I first want to thank you for asking about me, you are very thoughtful. I have my next appt with the colon surgeon on Monday to get a better understanding about my situation and surgery. I'm also going to see an Urogynecology doc on the 26 for more info and opinion. I did call my GI doc and asked them to fax me a copy of my defecography test results and they did. I will post another message about it to see somebody can help me understand it better.
How are you feeling lately? Hope better. I have my ok days and my not good days, but staying positive and trusting God.
