I tried soy hotdogs last week, YUCH! They would not cook on the grill and they tasted like sawdust. I have never had sawdust but I am sure these hotdogs were close!Just wondered what safe foods you all have tried and now will never pass your lips again?

Galaxy "cheddar" cheese. Oh, it was so foul. I had to toss the whole pan of mac&cheese. YUCK!

Tofutti mozzarella slices. Yellow plastic would have tasted better.
Great idea for a thread!

So true. Soy Station cheddar is actually edible.
And I'm sure we've all tried at least 3 kinds of soy milk.

I've tried every brand that's available up in my neck of the woods, and across the board, the stuff is HORRIBLE. Like sugary plastic that sucks the flavor out of everything it touches. The only exception I've found is the soy Parmesan, which actually tastes like Parmesan, amazingly enough. For the rest, I've just learned to live without cheese - it's not worth the taste-bud torture to learn to like the soy stuff.

I actually love soy cheese! Tofutti makes cheese that I just cant get enough of! To me, the worst safe food is soy burgers. I just dont like it. To me, theyre so dry and.. blehhhh.

WHat brand of soy parmesean. THe only one I"ve seen has so much other stuff in it that it doesn't look all that "safe" to me. (I'm pretty sure that more than particular foods, the way of preparation and the addition of chemical stuff is my biggest bugaboo).

Of course, I've run out and I don't remember who makes it, off the top of my head, but it's the same company that makes the "Veggie Shreds" cheeses. I know there's all kinds of additives and even casein, I think, but thankfully, dairy derivatives and chemicals don't bother me a bit.

If I could try the Tofutti brands, I might like it, but we don't get that up here. NO Tofutti, not even the soy ice cream. Northern Maine isn't exactly a mecca of healthy eating - LOL!
On the other hand, I really like soy burgers. I only stopped eating them because they're too expensive for my very limited budget.
