I went to buy some of this over the weekend because I know many of you use this. I remember seeing it on one of the dinner photos! Is this the product you guys are using? Vegan Cheese
Anyhow, I was reading the ingredient list and it now contains SORBITOL. I emailed the company and this was there response: Quote:
Thank you for your inquiry. The Galaxy Vegan Parmesan Topping contains 2 percent or less of sorbitol. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. I will be forwarding you a coupon that you may use to purchase other Vegan items. I will ensure that your concerns are passed to the development and quality committee. We appreciate your feedback!

Do you guys think this amount of sorbitol is still okay? Or should we avoid this product now....especially if we are symptomatic? I don't think I'll be using it.

If it's 2% or less of just about anything, I don't worry about it, really. I have experimented with this one and trace amounts less than 2% don't seem to bother me. For example, I believe 8th Continent Lite has some very small amount of artificial sweetner in it, but it has never bothered me.
Your milage may vary depending on your tolerances and comfort level.

I hate that those pesky artificial sweeteners and bad ingredients are just popping up everywhere.

why do you need sorbitol in a "cheese" product anyhow? I, personally, am not going to chance it by eating this.
