Are breakfast bars, like Atkins, Zone, etc.? I think there is one or maybe two things left still irrirating me that I haven't whittled out. I'm thinking these might be one of them.

I tend to avoid these as they've just too processed. I look at the back of something and if the list of ingredients goes into double figures I'm very wary. If there is a long list I'll expect most of them to be recognised obvious foods and not additives.

I suggest a trip to the health food shop and replace the processed breakfast bars with healthy oat/seed/halva bars. Watch out for wheat - it can be a common trigger and is found in most snacks!

whey powder or some form of a dairy derivative(sp?) so Id definately say avoid them...Ive had one or two in the past and found them to be fine but a lot of them have artificial sweeteners in them too..and thats a definate no no.

Luna bars are the only safe nutrition bars that I know of.
That is, if the inulin isn't a problem for you.

I had the worst attack from eating one of those "Zone" bars the other day, and then realized it contained whey, as well as milk chocolate and a couple of other wierd processed things that probably didn't help...but I am extremely sensitive to milk and dairy derivatives, so that's probably what did it...never again!

Some of the more diet-y bars have artificial sweeteners in them. I had a particularly unpleasant evening at my mother-in-law's when I had a Pria bar on the drive up. Maltitol is nasty!
