Ok really hope someone can help me with this, Ok for the past 2 years have been fairly stable (I'm an A prone to D)well for the last 6 months I've been really unstable. Now when I was stable I never used to eat breakfast just lunch and dinner and I would always go to the loo after my first meal of the day (lunch) well 6 months ago I decided to start having breakfast because its not always convenient to want to go to the toilet straight after lunch. Well I've managed to train my bowel to go in the morning but I'm having a really hard time with what to eat. I started off eating a muffin with a scraping of peanut butter but started getting C every morning then ending up a bit D because of it, so I switched to oatmeal which has been great in the fact that it does make me go in the morning but its making me prone to D, its not every day but at least once or twice a week and if I dont go straight on the BTC diet it goes on forever. After another attack this morning I'm absoloutley fed up and dont know what to have for breakfast anymore. So heres my dilemma, I want something thats hot because it seems to get things moving but with less IF. Am fed up of being C or D and never feeling normal!!!! Please guys any advice much appreciated x x x x x x x

You can try Cream of wheat (I think there is a cream of rice version but I haven't had it). I think its simpler to digest. You can make it with water, put some sugar and a small amount of fruit in (if you can tolerate that), and even some Acacia tummy fiber if that helps.
My stomach doesn't do very well with Oatmeal either.

What about an English muffin? (What DO you call those over there, if you have them? ) Or toast and apple sauce?

Yep....I've taken quite a liking to the Cream of Rice cereal. I can only find it in the baby food aisle, but it's actually pretty good.

I eat my Cream of Rice in the morning and toss on some mandarin oranges for my IF and it adds some flavor. I usually will eat an english muffin with soy butter and some herbal tea with it as well. I like to start my day with Chamomile.

I can't do oatmeal either. I agree with your other suggestions. I did fairly well with Malt-O-Meal's version of Cream of Wheat. (I think it didn't have something that the other brand did have... the whole wheat something or another...) anyway... I never did try the Cream of Rice.
I also do have English Muffins every now and then -- I just watch which kinds I have. Bakery ones are usually pretty good -- they add less stuff. If not -- just don't get the whole wheat ones. I haven't had any problems.
Good luck and I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Sounds like you may have a gluten intolerant issue. Have you been tested for celiac's? Anything else besides oatmeal an issues?
I do quinoa flakes, like oatmeal but gluteen free! YUMMERS!

I can't do oatmeal -- but do fine with gluten in all kinds of other foods. You may want to bring up gluten as a possible suspect -- but I wouldn't say "it sounds like you have a problem with" when there is really only one suspect food listed. We have enough problem foods without borrowing trouble.
