Hey everyone. I just started on peppermint caps this morning, taking one with food. I don't have GERD, but the cap seems to have upset my stomach, which is a little nauseous and acidic. Does your stomach acclimate to the peppermint over time? Is there another way in which I should take it? I really want this to work. Thanks!

Try the Peppermint Tea. It is fantastic, it fills me up and unfortunately, has become my dessert substitute!

So the caps didn't sit well with you but the tea does?

Actually, the caplets work well for me as well. I take 1 caplet before each meal and I usually drink the tea at lunch and after dinner. If I go out for dinner, I will take my own tea bag (never thought I would be one of THOSE people) and drink it during dinner. It really helps and allows me to drink a bit of alcohol without problems afterwards.
I take the Pepogest brand caplets from Whole Foods and drink Trader Joe's Peppermint tea.
Hope this helps!

Hi!
I've only taken the peppermint capsules twice now, and same problem both times. Its kind of like a weird pain that feels like its right below my ribs? I don't have GERD and have had peppermint tea without a problem (doesn't seem to do much though, besides taste good and keep me warm in a cold office).
So does anyone know if your digestive system has to get used to the capsules or is this a sign to not take them? Is this something that can be gotten rid of by taking them right before eating (I've only taken them an hour before eating on an empty stomach)...?

Thanks,
Becca

I had the same reaction and was wondering the same thing. Can anyone tell us they are successfully taking the capsules and having no problems? I do have acid reflux and the first one I took upset my stomach and I belched the peppermint all night. I really want it to work too.

I don't have acid reflux or gerd, but the same thing happened to me. For example I took one peppermint cap this morning at 8:00am and I've been burping peppermint all day long...and it's 7:15pm now!
