Anyone got any ideas for an alcohol-free, IBS-safe drink that I could order in a bar that is ALSO non-carbonated? I need something to hold onto when I'm out with people. I don't particularly care if it looks alcoholic or not. Do bars carry non-alcoholic wine and would that be safe? Or maybe some kind of juice combo that a bar might stock - I can't do tomato, though. I am just tired of asking for hot water with lemon and getting weird looks from the service staff!

I think that Heather mentioned that cranberry juice is ok. Plus, it's yummy!

In addition to what's been said, you can also ask for a alcohol free Singapore Sling.

I always get either cranberry juice or iced tea Both look pretty alcoholic to onlookers, and service staff don't usually give weird looks.

This is a typical Sling recipe. Omit the alcohol to get a virgin singapore sling
1/2 oz grenadine syrup 1 oz gin sweet and sour mix club soda 1/2 oz cherry brandy
Pour grenadine into the bottom of a collins glass, and fill with ice. Add gin, and almost-fill with equal parts of sweet and sour and chilled soda. Top with cherry brandy, and serve unstirred, garnished with a cherry.
