I am IBS C with sever bloating. My doctor is having me take a gastric emptying test to check for Gastroparesis Anybody else ever have that done?

Yep. It's not that bad. You eat a meal with radioactive dye cooked in it. They take picture of your tummy on a timetable. No pain. Pretty easy. I have gastroparesis. They wanted me to do more drugs. I'm instead opting for a low residue diet which seems to be working and I've had much less symptoms because of that. But perhaps the drugs will be right for you (should you have it).

I hope I have ! If I do, at leat I'll know and it can be treated.
Gastroparesis is when your stomache empties out slowly because the muscles don't contract properly

This is has come up on the Diet Board before - there have been one or two posters who were diagnosed with it - so if you do a Search with no time limit you can see what other people have said about it.

I've never had a gastroparesis test before, but I've had a barium test, which sounds very similar, except all you have to do is drink barium and watch it go down on an x-ray. It took over twelve hours to get to my large intestine, but that's besides the point. Hope this helps, though!
