Hi all,

I know I already asked this question, but I am really hoping that someone knows the answer to this: I bought the acacia tummy fiber a year ago and didn't use it much. I want to start it again and this time be serious about it, but I don't know if it has expired. I don't want to waste my time using this stuff if it is ineffective because it expired. I'd rather just go ahead and buy new stuff. Any help you can give me would be great!

Thanks,

Kat

Hi,
I just signed up for the message board and I have a question that I'd like to ask about Acacia Fiber. I've been taking it for a couple of months now (1/2 tsp twice a day)and I find that I am MORE bloated with a feeling of "fullness" than I was before. Since I had constant diarreah before I felt quite empty all the time. Is this normal?
TIA

I'd make sure you're measuring out a level 1/2 tsp. new

(use a measuring teaspoon), and if you are, try dropping your dose to just once daily. Some people have to start at an even lower dose, and very gradually increase, to get their guts used to the extra fiber. The Acacia is really concentrated, so it's easy to spoon out more than you realize and suddenly you're actually taking twice the dose.

Best,
Heather

Heather,

I do use a measuring spoon so I will drop it back down to once a day and see if that helps. I had terrible cramping last night but it's doing wonders for my diet. I'm not hungry at all.
