I would say not likely, though there was one woman on the board whose only symptom was basically bloating and gas. If it is severe, best get checked out by your Doc.
You can always:
eat smaller meals more frequently (less bloating)
drink fennel tea (helps bloating)
exercise even for a few minutes after eating (ditto)
drink peppermint tea - good for pain and gas
avoid foods that naturally cause gas - like dairy, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, etc.
try Heather's diet - it's good for people who don't have IBS - it is low in fat, and follows all 4 food groups.
See if any of these changes make a difference.

I was told by doctor yesterday that I have bowel spasma. I do not have IBS as I thought I had. I have bloat and stomach aches. She prescribed dicyclomine. So not all stomach and bloating pains mean you have IBS
