I was having sever anixety and depression from IBS lately. I was really trying to overcome it on my own but it wasn't working. I was really getting bothered and stressed out and would only leave the house to go to work. That was getting difficult as well. So I decided to talk to my doc about it. I was a mess all day. I could hardly eat and couldn't concentrat. I thought I was seeing my regular doc but they scheduled me with the female doc. This was fine with me. However, she made me feel kind of bad. I think I was just really stressed out and needed someone to really listen to what was going on with me. I was balling. She said she had never seen IBS affect someone like this. That made me more upset. I'm sorry that recent events make me feel this way but I can't help it. She ended up giving me Lexapro. I took my first one when I got home and it already is making me feel funny. Maybe this is because I was upset most of the day. Anyway, she said most of her patients that take it say the get a little C. So I am hoping it will in the end help my IBS. I just hope I can stay awake for a couple weeks until it kicks in! I'm getting drowsy!!

HI Sorry, you are feeling a little bit bad...
When I first got IBS, my doc gave me Lexapro and It worked WONDERS for me. My anxiety was gone, my IBS was gone and my depression was gone also... It was a good med for me... I only took it for 6 months though because I didn't want to depend on medication.

I suggest that you look at your diet and try to identify your triggers. Also, what's causing you anxiety?? As soon as I found out the root of my problems and I faced them, my anxiety went away and my tummy calmed down....

So If you are feeling really bad, maybe Lexapro could help you temporaly... However, it's best to find the real root to our problems... easier said than done... but I worked for me!!! Good luck
