Can anyone tell me whether Benefil is as good as advertized? Based on Heather's Recipe Book I now use Metamucil or FiberCon with good results. The ad makes Benefil sound better. BTW I am IBS-D. Thanks!

Do you mean Benefiber? I think Beneful is dog food!
Anyway, I take Befiber twice a day and have for about a year. It works for me.

I'm not laughing at the poster, but it gave me a little chuckle! I don't why they would name a dog food so close to the name of an SFS?

Yeah, I've wondered that, too. Maybe if they made kibble for dogs with IBS, they could call it Benefiberful.
No, wait. That would be confusing, too.

Benefil is a natural breast enhancement formula. Beneful is the dog food. That's the stuff I get for my dog too. -Bob

I use the powder (haven't found the caplets around here yet). I take 1TB in the morning and 1TB in the evening.
My boobs are the same size as ever, but it sure helps with the IBS.

This thread has become so funny!
But to answer your question, New Cook,I would say if you're having good results with Metamucil or Fibercon there's no reason to change. If you start having problems with these types of SFS, you can always switch to Benefiber (powder) or Acacia later on.
HTH!

If only it were that easy to make them grow!!!!
I think I am going to switch to the powder because it has not fillers, unlike the pills....just easier to take the pills!

Hi Snorkie, Yeah, I know it sounds strange LOL. I knew Beneful is the dog food because I feed it to my dog. Out of curiosity, I googled Benefil, just to see if it was anything else, and low and behold. I knew I should've said something in the post. I don't know any women that use it or anything like that. - Embarassed Bob

Kree, Honest I didn't know about it till I googled it. I kinda thought I was going to pay for that post. Good to see you're teasing me, your frame of mind must be improving . By the way, my dog's a male anyway. Keep up your spirits. -Bob

Hi New Cook, Yes it is the right spelling, but for the breast enhancer! As you can see from the posts below, they're letting me have it.<laugh> -Bob

..... is there really a Lake Linden? What's it like? How big is it? Does it freeze over in the winter so you can skate on it?
I'm a big water fan. Hubby was born and raised in Detroit, and keeps talking about going back to visit, but knows it's not the same as it was when he was a boy. He says the UP is gorgeous. IS IT?

I'm not Bob, but I love the UP and lived in SE Michigan for 5 years. The UP is gorgeous - you can spend a whole day just hiking around to different waterfalls. There's also glass-bottom boat tours (the better to see the shipwrecks with) and all sorts of boating. I'm guessing you'd find it to be awfully similar to Washington State!
And Detroit can be fun, too. Eastern Market is a hoot, Windsor is fun to visit (if harder now post-9/11), and you can get a good (albeit not IBS-safe) Polish meal in Hamtramck where my husband used to live. If you're a fan of college towns, Ann Arbor (where I used to live) is fantastic.

I'm a Michigan native! I went to grad school in Ypsi, right next door to Ann Arbor. I loved Ann Arbor. East Lansing is another nice college town, but I'm biased being an MSU alum.
I've only been in da UP a couple of times, but it is beautiful country.

Hi Bev, Do you mean is there a lake called Lake Linden, no there isn't, but the village of Lake Linden is for real, and it is on a big lake, called Torch Lake. Interestingly enough, there is a real estate business in the town called "Torch Real Estate". What a name for a real estate business. Yes, da UP is really scenic and picturesque in the summer, unless you adore snow like Casey. Oh yes the lake does freeze over and there is an area of it that is cleared off which is right nearby the downtown area. However the rest of the lake has about three feet of snow on it now. We've gotten quite a bit of snow this year, recently we just past the 270 inch mark. -Bob
