I mention before that every once in awhile I get reflux. For natural healing effect read that licorice tea can help. What effect would this have on a IBS person with d and c? thanks Sherri

Real licorice can be a laxative.

You forget that some of us IBS-C'er are sometimes desperate for anything that has a laxative effect! But licorice, I don't know if I could stomach that. Any other laxative-type foods that you are keeping secret?

Well, licorice has come up in some past posts, but like all laxatives it's not really good to use. It's an herb, but it can still lead to bowel dependency if you use it regularly. Same with prune juice, or senna, or other "natural" laxatives.
