I live in south australia, and am new to all this information. I was recently diagnosed with IBS before Xmas, so I decided to order 'Eating for IBS' book through our local book store. What I would like to know if is there other Australians out there who are trying to cope with IBS, as I would really appreciate any advice at the moment. I have days where my tummy is great and others are terrible. I'm desperatly trying to adjust to the right food and so far I think it seems to be helping somewhat. Any help from others out there would be wonderful! Cheers from a little lost Aussie...

Hi and welcome

There are a definitely a few other people on these boards from Austrailia. Off the top of my head I know that Amy (doubletrouble) is from Austrailia, and I think that Emma (thepurplelollie) is from New Zealand.

I know it alls eems a little overwhelming at first, but once you get your copy of EFI and have a good read through that it will all start to become simpler. In the meantime have a good read through this site and try not to let all the discussion on the boards confuse you - the boards tend to discuss the "margins" of the diet, the anomalies etc. and it's good to know the basics before diving in, so to speak. If you still have any specific questions or concerns about the diet or anything, feel free to post away and we'll do our best to help you out

ps. Have you checked out this post? (It's "stickied" at the top of the diet board) It includes some brand name recommendations for IBS foods, including a special category for brands available in Austrailia. HTH!

something like that poisoning. -Bob
