Does anyone know what to do for Leaky Gut Syndrome? Is there a way to "fix it"?

Doesn't sound too fun...a juicing fast or a hypallergenic diet for a long time? What would one eat?

Its funny you posted that beth, I was just looking at your post. LOL
This is a tough thing. There is something called "gut permeability" recognized by the medical community and there is a big push out there from the alternative proponets of something called "leaky gut" not recognized by the medical community.
First where did you see and hear about this?
Next, it is not the cause of IBS so you know.
There is a lot of information, but a lot you have to be careful of about this really.

When I did a search, Heather had suggested that the poster ask you about this since you are "up on research"!
I have gluten antibodies but not celiac disease. The GI suggested I have a leaky gut...but I forgot to ask her what to do for it! And she didn't offer the info either. I don't know why she would suggest this and then not tell me what to do about it!

Lots of protein, fresh vegetables, and some fruit. The diet is more simple than you think, but lots of starchy things like white breads, pastas, white rice, processed foods, and sugar/sweet foods must be eliminated. Probiotics is also very good for leaky gut, but it's not the only thing that will help, other supplements and the diet will help.
