hello, I'm a new member...but here is my question....
I'm on an elimination diet for 10 days and can't eat wheat, products with gluten, dairy, meat (except white meat chicken or seafood), leafy vegetables, legumes, fruit (except watermelon), nuts, etc...I think that's all. But I was wondering if Oat bran would be okay. I've heard some bad and good things about oat bran (especially in reference to gluten)....but I wanted some people's opinions. Thanks!!!

oat bran is IF, so in terms of ibs it needs to be handled carefully - not eaten on an empty stomach, without SF, or in large quantities.

The box I have at home (but never have tried) says it has 3 grams SF and 3 grams IF per serving...which is the same as my oatmeal says.

If you're on an elimination diet which specifically eliminates gluten, than oat bran would not be acceptable. Oats & oat bran contain gluten.

I totally forgot to mention that oats are usually not considered safe for a gluten free diet.
