Hello,
I currently work 5 days a week durring the day and I need some IBS safe sandwhichs that I can bring into work with my pretzels or totilla chips to eat for lunch. I am currently on a Peanut Butter and Jelly kick on Sourdough bread but I would like some other good ideas that I can start making that are quick to bring with me that taste good and are IBS safe. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Kristen

i make turkey sandwiches with a little mayo (if you are ok with it) and dejon. i really really like those...and some deli meat of course. i'll also pack peanut butter and banana snadwiches...i loveeee those! haha. yeah, kinda a kid. if i'm feeling ok to do, i'll add lettuce and tomato to the turkey sandwich too (i pack the tomato seperately becuase it'll get all soggy)

those are my most eaten sandwiches. i stick chips on my sandwich too..yes i'm kinda a kid when it comes to sandwiches!! id you check out the recipess for sandwhiches on the recipe exchange posts there are some there too i believe.

hope this helped some!

Tuna fish with light mayo on sourdough is my favorite! You can also experiment with different soy meats and veggie burgers...I like to put some avocado on mine, but some people can't handle it. I have made some pretty kick-ass fakin' bacon BLTs in the past, but that requires some grilling. The easiest is plain turkey, chicken, or soy meat with mustard and maybe some veggies that you can personally tolerate. Hope that helps!

A plain bagel, a bit of mild mustard, turkey and a slice of lettuce and or a tomatoe makes a quick, easy sandwich. You can leave of the IF if it bothers you, but the bagel usually offsets that with SF, so it works for me!

Thanks for the info. I will go to the store in the next couple of nights and get some turkey and light mayo to try.
Always open to new ideas.

Good idea. I will have to try a sandwich on a bagel.
Thanks

I eat turkey sandwhiches on Tortilla Wraps. I also do well with tuna fish with little mayo, but some can not tolerate mayo so it may be a trial and error game.

Turkey on white. Lettuce and tomato if you can handle it. Mustard or barbecue sauce - my personal favorite! Chicken breast is another good deli meat. If you go with the pre-sliced packaged stuff, you'll also be able to find turkey ham.

Tuna or chicken salad, made with lite or ff mayo.

If you can do the lettuce and tomato, you can also have a BLT made with turkey bacon and lite mayo.

If you like egg salad, egg salad can be made with just the egg whites, and add a squirt of mustard in with the mayo... you'd be surprised how good it is.

Personally, one of my favorite lunches isn't a sandwich at all. I make up a batch of tuna salad (or chicken salad) and stir in cold cooked pasta and peas. Season it up, shake some soy parmesan on top... yum!

Be careful with the PB&J, though... too much peanut butter is a bad thing for IBS'ers, generally speaking, because of the fat content.

One of the best sandwiches I've EVER had in my life was at this cute little cafe in NY. It was a GardenBurger topped with fresh spinach, sauteed mushrooms, sprouts, thin slices of avocado, and hummus, on a toasted bulkie roll. It was so heavenly that even my little brother, who thinks vegetarian food is mostly evil, thought it was incredible.

Not something you could take in your lunch, really, but I had to mention it anyway!

On the other hand, I think you could leave off the Garden Burger and still have a really good cold sandwich. Hmm... methinks I'll have to try that!
