I usually drink a lot of water, which is excellent for the diet. But lately I've been feeling very ..acidic. Especially when I continue to consume water, I feel something like an acidic sensation in my chest or stomach. Any insight?

Hi Alli, Get a piece of pH paper and test your water for
acidity. You want to make sure it's near 7 and not that
much lower. Otherwise, you're drinking acidic water. -Bob

Oh okay. Thanks Bob!!! ..Although the water I am drinking is actually from a water cooler. So it's not tap water or anything. Or does that matter?

Oh, in that case, it probably should be ok, but ask around
where they get the water from. If it came from a filtered
rain water storage tank, it may well be acidic. -Bob

I actually found that of all the safe things to drink cold water (ESPECIALLY ice-cold) can be a big GERDs trigger, so it could well be that.

Any ice-cold drinks will mae your stomach cramp up a bit btw.

Yes, Linz is right -- stay away from ice cold water! It is best to drink room temperature water. Sometimes I splurge on bottled Evian water. Since there is very little I can drink, I figure (for what little I can drink) I should be entitled (guilt-free) to some "better quality" water!

Most days, though, I drink room temperature bottled President's Choice water available at supermarkets here in Canada. I keep a bottle on my kitchen counter at all times. The water is cheap, but good!

I never drink tap water except if I have boiled it in the kettle. I find I get totally nauseated from the chlorine if I drink unboiled tap water.
