while reading Deborah's story, she mentioned eating Ezekiel bread. Did you guys think she was saying she was okay with it and that it didn't cause her problems? This surprised me as it is IF isn't it? I was surprised someone with IBS-D would not be eating white breads.
Am I interpreting this wrong?
Thanks...hope an IBS-C story is next!

Is the person in the article saying she can eat it? I just am not sure. Sounds like she is though! And, she's D prone.
Were you referring to yourself as the IBS-C story? I'm not sure I understand what you were refering to in an earlier post?

Some IBS people seem to be able to tolerate more IF than others. Personally, I can only tolerate bread and buns made from white flour. I would get horribly ill if I tried eating bread made from IF. So if Ekeziel is made from IF, it would not be on my menu!

It is sprouted wheat, and someone just told me this weekend that they avoid wheat but can eat sprouted wheat just fine. Go figure. Dan

that the bread doesn't contain flour so it may be easier for gluten intolerant people to digest because it isn't flour.
I think this would be different than IBS intolerance for it though. If anyone tries it....please post!

Beth Bread has never been a problem since my primary store bought bread is Ezekiel, and my homemade baked breads are either brown rice flour, corn flour, or a combination of millet and other grains. For this reason, I wasn't able to identify whole wheat as the culprit It sounds like she's ok with it. I googled Ezekiel and it is sprouted. Ezekiel is the brand name for bread, rolls, etc.

Ezekiel breads are made from organic sprouted grains. When the grains are sprouted, they are assimilated better by the body and I believe has more nutrients. This is the way people used to make bread in biblical times - using sprouted grains. Modern day technology and companies don't do this, so they add other things to the bread and make it harder on our digestive systems.

I have no idea. I can read the passage either way:
She was eating Ezekiel bread so often she never figured out whole grains were bothering her.
OR
She was eating Ezekiel bread and did fine so that means she does okay with whole grains (presumably combined with SF).
I think it's irrelevant, though. If she can handle whole grains, that's great for her, but it doesn't change that fact that I can't. If she can't handle whole grains, I can relate, but it doesn't change the fact that other people can and if they can eat them, they should, both for general health and for good bowel function.
