As I've posted before I'm starting to eat bread again, last night I had 2 slices of this fresh Italian bread with my dinner, within an hour I had the worst thick mucus in my throat, still have it this morning,it's so thick,I can't swallow it down, also feel like I can't get a good breath of air, I had this problem for almost 2 years but it went away a few months ago..4 different drs had no clue. I'm wondering if its a food allergy?? thanks for the help..this is the list of ingredients in the bread I ate..I don't see any dairy,do you?
Ingredients: Enriched Flour(Flour, Barley Malt, Niacin, Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic acid), Water, Yeast, Salt, Sugar, Dough Conditioners(Sodium Stearoil Lactylate, Azodicarbonamide, Calcium iodate, L-cysteine, enzymes)

I've never heard of this symptom before; neither have I ever read of it in the Boards since I've been here. I'm sorry, I haven't a clue. However, I'd lay off that bread from now on if I were you.

The bread you bought is safe for IBS. But, like Bev said, what you're experiencing IS NOT a typical IBS symptom.
If you're having trouble breathing shouldn't you go to a doctor? When you've gone in the past have they suggested it might be an allergic reaction? Have they recommended an antihistamine, like Benadryl, and has it helped these symptoms?

I've had 2 sinus surgery's thinking it would help,no luck. I'm at a loss as to what could have started this again, thinking its some kind of food allergy

Wow! Two surgeries! I would be frustrated too. It can't be comfortable.
I wish I had some advice or someway to help you. I guess you could try using Benadryl and then if the symptoms went away you'd sort of know it was allergy-related. But you might want to talk to you doctor about it first. Do you think it has anything to do with how much water you're drinking (maybe not enough)? Do you use one of those saline solution sprays?
Take care, Betty!

5 different sprays over 2 years,6 different meds, the 2 surgeries,my reg dr,3 ENT specialtist, salt and baking soda to clean the sinus's everyday..nothing helps..it gives me terrible panic attacks. the only reason I'm thinking food related is because it stop for a bit and now is back. I'm looking around the web to see if a food allery could be the problem thank you for the concern

To people with celiac. Have you been tested for that? This is my only guess....
But I wouldn't eat something that does this to you...please be careful *hugs*

This is serious. Did you get a choking kind of sensation? Truly, it sounds like a histamine response, an allergic reaction.
I've experienced similar things in the past.
Kate.
