Has anyone found a particular vitamin or mineral or several in combination that helps with IBS?
Thanks Sandra Houtz SLHoutz56841@aol.com

Probiotics have helped me quite a lot, and a soluble fibre supplement.
I've also tried silicea gel, which wasn't bad.

Cal/Mag in a 2:1 ratio as suggested here has been good for me. I'm a C. Also using a multi-vitamin, Omega Complex, Heather's Acacia and a probiotic.

Which probiotic do you all use? I keep wanting to try it but don't know which brand to use.

This is all in Heather's books and on the site, but...
Calcium is slightly constipating and good for D. Magesium has a slight laxative effect and is good for C. Be careful with taking extra vitamin C (i.e. for a cold) - it can have a laxative effect too, which you don't want if you're D.
And in general, a good multivitamin is recommended for everyone. Some people with IBS are more sensitive to vitamins and can't seem to take any safely. If that's you, try children's vitamins (with NO artificial sweeteners only) or ask your doctor about prenatal vitamins, which are easier on the stomach.
Other than that, things like fiber and probiotics are not vitamins or minerals.
