I tried an online test on diagnoseme.com and I found that Glutamine and Hydrochlric Acid is a recommendation for helping IBS. HAs anyone tried these? I did a search and it came up with zero mentions of eiter word.
The test was 9 pages and took forever, but maybe you all might want to try the test. Its free and has a few interesting facts.

I've used this - intestinew by renew life http://www.renewlife.com/products/detail/intestinew.html It has Glutamine in it. I haven't had a problem with it. I don't use it right now, but I will again later on.

I definitely recommend that you get on Glutamine to help repair your digestive tract lining. I have been where you are before (in Nov) and Glutamine is what got me eating again. I couldn't eat anything until I had been on the Glutamine for a solid week. It really helps. I still have attacks every single day but I am at least able to eat! Glutamine won't kill the attacks but it will probably allow you eat again, at least.
I tried the HCl before and I puked!! I definitely have too much stomach acid!!!! They say to try it and if it helps your heartburn, you have to little stomach acid and if it makes it worse, you have too much stomach acid. So, the only way you will know is to try!
I would try 1 TBS apple cider vinegar in 4 oz of water (sipping it slowly) before doing HCl. If you have too much stomach acid like I do, the HCl will make you puke FOR SURE!!! It's strong!!!
Apple Cider Vinegar made my heartburn alot worse but I didn't throw up because I could stop sipping on it before it got too bad. I just burped and gurgled apple cider vinegar for a week!!!
Hope this helps! Get on the Glutamine ASAP!! You don't need to stay on it forever, just about a month or two to repair the lining of your digestive tract.

That's what I use, too. It's good stuff but expensive. You can just use L-Glutamine if you want. If you can't afford the $40 bucks for that little can of Intestinew. It is good stuff, though. I use it.

In Canada it's between $44-$50 depending on where you go, but I like it and think it's worth it.

I don't know about hydrochloric acid, but I was using L-Glutamine for a while to help with recovery when I was doing serious weight training. It definitely didn't HURT by IBS, but I have no idea if it helped... if it did, I certainly didn't notice

yea, you don't really notice it until your system is so irritated that you can't eat anything. THEN, you can feel the healing effects of the Glutamine. It certainly doesn't take away ANY of the pain, cramping, D, urgency or any of that.......in my experience, anyway. I only felt it healing my gut when I couldn't eat anything at all besides crackers. My gut literally burned from mouth to anus and now it doesn't burn so much anymore. But, all pain is still there!!!
