for breakfast. Cereal w/ soymilk. Well, maybe not the greatest idea I've ever had. Got naseated soon afterword.(Now I'm sucking on peppermints).
So, I guess it's not so good to try something new on an empty stomach. I'm just getting tired of the oatmeal & breakfast bars. Anyone got any suggestions for breakfast??

Get used to the soy milk gradually first before you have a whole bowlful and you should be fine. Or try rice or almond milk instead.

Have you looked at breakfast suggestions in EFI and the Recipe Index?

Yeah, I guess your right. i found that regular milk didn't sit well with me a couple months ago. So, I thought I'd try soy. But I don't drink it very often. As for the EFI book, I haven't gotten it yet. I need to order it. I don't eat heavy in the morning, just can't stomach the thought of Eggbeaters first thing in the morning. Plus, I don't have time to cook either. I notice that alot of the recipies on this site have alot of ingredients that are expensive & I wouldn't use often. I just try to keep it simple, like pasta or rice & frozen veggies. I'll try to intro due my system to the soy milk in a better way, like not on an empty stomach...thanx

A small cup of unsweetened applesauce with 1 tbsp Acacia and lots of cinnamon, heated up in the microwave, with a plain English muffin (from Whole Foods) with fruit puree. This week's is mango with dark sweet cherries

I had to try a few different soy milks before I found one I liked, and then I mixed it with milk for about 4 weeks before I went straight soy. Have you tried 8th Continent or 8th Continent Lite?

I like both of those & they work okay with cold cereal, but I usually just have oatmeal made with soy milk with a 1/2 cup of canned pears, peaches, or applesauce stirred in.

Yeah, I've been meaning to try some fruit w/ my oatmeal, just not awake enough in the morning to remember! I'm sure I'll try it!

I cannot eat cereal w/soymilk on an empty stomach, either. I don't know why!! I found out the hard way, too!!

Sorry! I usually just eat bagels, potatoes, cream of wheat and stuff like that. I cannot do any kind of cereal or milk in the morning at all....

I'm with you re: soy milk on cereal--a very bad thing. RICE MILK works, though. I just pour it on, but don't drink it, i.e. dump what's in the bowl in the sink. Actually, most of time I just eat cereal dry.

Leftovers from dinner are great for breakfast, I'm discovering, too...rice, veggies, etc. Whatever. Potatoe even. It doesn't really matter what you eat so experiment.

Soy milk, is a very nasty thing, though, for me.

Kate.

Well, the nasea passed! But now I notice that my neck is breaking out in a rash. I've had it before when I drank soy milk, but I thought, maybe it was just a coincidence!! Guess not, oh well, it's better than having an attack. Oh yeah, that was about an hour ago too. Good times!! LOL

I guess so. The first time I drank it I noticed I started breaking out in a rash, & the next time too. But I really thought it was a coincidence, cuz when I drank it, it was like 2 weeks apart. Oh well, I guess no straight milk for me. I can have it if it's mixed with something, but not straight. Oh well, I suppose there are worse things in the world!

I got hooked on Barbara's Puffins (cinnamon) and vanilla rice milk for a while, but found I was having a lot of nausea and attacks. Once I switched to cheerios and regular rice milk, I was perfectly fine. Just took me a while to figure out my stomach can't tolerate all that sugar in the morning.

This sounds like a histamine reaction. You're definitely sensitive or allergic. Switch to Rice Dream & you'll feel better. Also, the type/brand of cereal makes a huge difference. I'm fine with Rice Krispies or Crispix. Actually, most of the time I eat it dry because I prefer it that way. Sugar in the morning really makes me ill. Also, most soy milks have added sugar. Perhaps you might be carrageenan sensitive? Sorry, just combing my brain.
