Wow, I've never seen or heard of anyone getting that bloated. Glad you're feeling better.

Michelle, My GI doc had the exact same response from info I found on the web. I told him about Sinead's antispasmodic, Colofax. He said, "First of all, it's not FDA approved, It's a Dutch drug, and I can't get it for you. Furthermore, Stop wasting your time on the internet, and believing all that's there!" -Bob

Hi Minnie, I've seen the statement that stool toxins have never been shown to migrate out of the colon and cause toxic problems elsewhere in the body on several websites, and have asked at least a half dozen doctors about it, and they've all said that this business about stool toxins escaping the colon and wrecking havoc elsewhere is pure baloney. -Bob

The one that got me thinking was Dual Action Cleanse, but it is expensive and is supposed to be done every other month! I have mostly decided against it and think it is probably a money-making scheme.

That is good news. I am not really bloated in summer too badly, but never am completely bloat free. And in winter I bloat every day to some extent. It is great that you don't. Obviously though I do think very highly of everything I have learned here of course! I will talk to my doc about the twisty colon next week too.

These Doctors cannot stand that there is even an internet now....he says all his patients go on the internet and try to "self-diagnose" now, and they don't even know anything about medicine. I like having access to all of this info because my doctor is the one that doesn't have a CLUE!!!! LOL!!! I am getting better WITHOUT HIM!! Isn't that funny......

Hi LittleMinnie!
I only know what everyone else has read on here about cleanses being traumatic to your system, so I can't really give any advice but I was just wondering if you have ever had a colonoscopy done and had to get all cleared out for that? I know that when I had mine done, the pains and bloating I got from taking the stuff to clear me out was absolute agony and I couldn't be PAID to do it again. I am thinking if you've had it done and it was fine, then maybe you'd be better off than if you had a similar reaction than I did.
Just a thought!
Oddly enough, I have maybe gone C a couple of times but I am always, always D. I ended up in the ER one time in England a while back, with severe pains after not being able to "go" for like 4 days. They gave me pain meds and all of a sudden, I had to go like a million times. I felt completely emptied out, but when they x-rayed me, they said I was all backed up and full of "crap", for lack of a better word. I wonder if I were to just go for a regular x-ray one day, what it would show. Weird.
Good luck, let us know what you decide and how everything goes!
Cheers, --Steph

no I have not yet had one, but will in the next few years. I did do the prep once and nothing came out! My doc was pretty curious about why. I had very loose D, but only the amount I would normally go in one day and then just water. So it was a failure. It made me nauseous and was annoying but didn't bother too much.
Yep it is all weird.

I have one more thing to add to this post that I forgot to mention before. Although I do support cleanses, I don't support all cleanses. I myself go to both a doctor and a naturopath. Each is aware that I go to the other, and they are aware what medicine or supplement I am taking. I wouldn't choose any old cleanse and do it on my own, it should be done under some kind of supervision because some cleanses might be too rigorous, or strong for your body. The goal is to reach a herxheimer reaction, but too much too soon is not too good for your body all at once, it should be more gradual.
